ELMHURST — Looking for somewhere to watch the biggest football game of the year? Want to support a good cause? You can do both at the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Foundation's 2nd annual Chili Bowl Cook-Off on Sunday, Feb. 7 at 4:30 p.m.

The Chili Bowl Cook-Off, to be held at the Fifth Third Bank building in downtown Elmhurst, will feature food, drinks, games of chance with fabulous prizes, activities for kids, football watching, and of course, chili tasting. This year, Marco Conte from Cafe Amano and Michael Spilotro from 100 South Chop House will join the competition along with Hank Dreyer from Wine & Vine and the reigning champion, the Honorable Lee Daniels.

"Bring your friends and family members," it's going to be a great evening and at the same time, a wonderful opportunity to support the Hospital," said Marla Byrne, Co-Chairman of the 2010 Chili Bowl.

"We know that a lot of people host Super Bowl parties in their homes, but we encourage you to bring your party to our event and let us do all the work — you just get to enjoy the game, along with great food and friends," added Karen Van Prooyen, Co-Chairman of the 2010 Chili Bowl.

Along with Byrne and Van Prooyen, the planning committee for this year's event includes Jane Aspen, Frank Catalano, the Honorable Lee Daniels, Sarah Diamond, Susan Elsey, Mia McPherson, Kathy Orange, Joyce Sloan and Mimi Stanton.

Tickets to the Chili Bowl must be purchased prior to the event and are $100 for adults, $25 for children and $225 for the family package, which consists of two adults and two children under the age of 18. All proceeds from the event will benefit the new Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, which is scheduled to open in mid-2011. For more information about the event, or to purchase tickets, please call the Foundation at (630) 782-7829 or visit http://www.emhfoundation.org/events/chili-cookoff.cfm.
